Are You Also Tired

It's not strange if you are tired of the 3 sets of 10 reps. So is your body as well. Both your body and your brain need stimulation and variation. To repeat the same old workout routines day in and day out for a long period gets boring. Nevertheless, this happens to most of us. You get frustrated since although you have gained strength, lost fat and got in a better shape, suddenly you find yourself even weaker than before. It can happen to anyone.

Most of the time this depends on lack of change. People rarely change their workout routines over time. A lot of people stick to the same type of workout program and types of exercises, and continue with the 3 times 10 (or 3 times 12) routine. If this applies to you as well, I hope I can get you to open your mind and welcome some creativity to your workouts with this article.

There are numerous ways for you to modify your workout variables, to assure that you get maximum results from your efforts of burning fat and/or building muscles. Some people change the number of sets and reps, for example to 2 times 10 or 3 times 8 etc., but few think about changing their workout routines dramatically.
To dramatically affect your results, try changing your workout routines according to any of these changes;

- change the sequence of the exercises (the order of them)
- change the grouping of the exercise (fitness, circuit training, super-setting, etc.)
- change the type of the exercise (single joint or multi-joint, machine based or free-weights)
- the number of exercises per workout
- the level of resistance, the stability base (one-legged, on stability ball, seated,
standing, etc.)
- the volume of work (sets/reps/distance moved, etc)
- rest period between the sets (30 sec's, 10 sec's, etc.)
- repetition speed
- exercise angle (upright, bent over, declined, flat, etc.)
- range of motion
- training frequency per week
- duration of training per workout.

There you got a lot of different methods to consider, in order getting optimal results from your workout efforts. Here's where a professional personal trainer with knowledge and experience can help you. He/she can set up different workout programs for you at different periods of your training, follow up and make sure your workouts don't get stale.
